Engine – MGB 1867 cc (+60) Econotune Chrome Bumper.
The engine has been fully rebuilt to our exacting standards. The block has been sleeved to improve reliability and ring sealing. The crank is a factory forged steel one. The engine has been balanced. The clutch is Borg and Beck fitted to a lightened flywheel with new ring gear. The oil pump is modified to increase flow. The camshaft is a billet Piper HR270 profile. The cylinder head is a 12H2709 large inlet valve casting modified to our Econotune specification. The head gasket is Payen. There is a new timing chain and tensioner, oil pump gears, pistons, pushrods, cam followers and bearings. The rocker shaft is reconditioned with a new shaft. Cylinder Head – standard leadfree 216 conversion to MGA 1500/1600
Our Standard leadfree MGB heads are far from standard!
We fit bronze valve guides to aid heat removal, stainless steel exhaust valves, EN52 inlet valves, leadfree compatible exhaust seat inserts and ‘top hat’ style inlet valve stem oil seals. The seats are cut using three angles; the resulting improvement in efficiency more than offsets the power lost due to the use of lower calorific value premium lead-free fuel.
Before skimming the head, we carefully remove sharp edges from the chambers and valve throats.

Cylinder head – MGB Standard Lead Free 967
The standard 967 leadfree head has been crack tested, incorporates bronze valve guides, exhaust seat inserts and 3-angle valve seats to improve performance. The combustion chamber peak is modified as per factory recommendations to improve burn characteristics. Heads are assembled with new components, including double valve springs.
